About

Exceed Worldwide provides Prosthetic and Orthotic (P&O) services in Southeast Asia. It has worked there since 1989, supporting people with physical disabilities related to conflict (e.g. landmines and other explosive devices), disease, congenital issues, accidents and more.

People with disabilities and their families are often highly disadvantaged and Exceed Worldwide’s holistic services include:

 Training local P&O clinicians and technicians to create and sustain a professional workforce
 Free P&O services for the disadvantaged
 Community services to ensure access to education, employment and community life.

Setting up professional P&O services requires investment. For example, in Cambodia it costs $42,000 to train a P&O clinician over 3 years and $8,000 to train a P&O technician over 1 year.

Investment in clinical skills brings benefits to individual patients. A below-the-knee prosthesis costs around $200 and an above-the-knee prosthesis comes in at around $500. $15 buys a school uniform and a bicycle costs around $50 and this type of support enables children and adults with disabilities to get mobile, attend school, access training, get jobs and contribute to society as employees and taxpayers. In short, investment in P&O makes social and economic sense.

Please help AFOE raise funds by making a donation – anything you can afford is fine.

You can make a single donation or set-up a regular contribution.

With your support, people who were dependent on others will become independent contributors to society as employees, business owners and taxpayers.
